Supercritical CO2 extraction combines extraction, separation and concentration. This process ensures more bio-availability and best product quality for the processing of natural products.
In this process, active ingredients in botanicals are dissolved utilizing high-pressure supercritical fluid CO2 at a low temperature. The active ingredients which are dissolved in CO2 are separated and collected by changing the parameters of pressure and temperature in a separator vessel. The total process of extraction and separation is carried out simultaneously in a short period.
CO2 is non-toxic, colorless, odorless, non-inflammable and creates no environmental hazards. It is totally acceptable for the extraction and purification of natural products used in health functional foods, herbal medicine, aromatherapy & cosmetics.
Fluid CO2 is a highly selective solvent. With this full extend of extraction and high active ingredient content, we can make products of different contents according to your demand.
Being non-polar, CO2 does not dissolve polar materials such as heavy metals and pesticides. Hence, the extracts are free from metals and pesticide residues.
Low extraction temperature and oxygen-free, suitable for some heat or oxidization sensitive natural products, thus ensures the quality of the products.
